The Complete Worldbending series. Avatar (The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra) as depicted by Windy-Asylum @ DA. (Pugletto @ Tumblr).
Information/Separate Threads:
- Ancient/World Avatars - The one that started it all.
- Air Nomads - The different Air Nations, as influenced by South America, Africa, and East Asia
- Earth Nation - The different states of the Earth Nation, as influenced by the North American Southwest, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.
- Water Nation - Water peoples! As influenced by Hawaii, Mongolia, and Madagascar.
- Fire Nation - A look at the last and final part of the Worldbending series - the Fire Nation! As influenced by Mesoamerica, India, and Japan.
- Worldbending - Fire Nation; Mexico
My bias is showing again. I am Mexican. Hence, Mexico.
Even though he looks like generic 1920’s guy.
On that note, Mr. Guy here was totes designed to fit right into Republic City! Figured he didn’t quite fit into the ancient benders’ world.
- Worldbending - Air Nation; The Andes
I actually based the Andean Airbenders off more commonly-known Inca dress. :)
I’m totally biased though, so I made another one - this time, an actual Avatar…AND HE’S A KING, so there ya go~
- Worldbending - Earth Nation; American Southwest (Mojave) | Water Nation; Great Lakes Region (Ho-Chunk)
Requests for Native Worldbending. An Avatar influenced by the Ho-Chunk people about to give a little Mojave earthbender a run for his money.
I figure a lot of the tribes around the Great Lakes regions would be so obviously Water Tribe. The Southwest would tend to teeter more on Fire/Earth, depending on location.
- Worldbending - Air Nation/Fire Nation; Brazil
Brazil was kind of a toss up, but I really wanted an excuse to illustrate some capoeira movements!
These two are another duo of fabulous bending brothers - biracial bending brothers of Native and African descent. They’ve adopted Airbending and Firebending as an art (Firebending as it’s practiced by the natives, and airbending as it was practice by their African ancestors). Capoeira, I think, works well for both. :3
